Holston Conference UMW Multicultural Event

Multicultural Event

The Multicultural Event increases awareness and understanding of Holston Conference United Methodist Women by highlighting the cultural diversity of our organization.

 May 24, 2014

Mt. Zion United Methodist Church
Greeneville, TN
The first two Mujeres en Accion events have passed and we are planning for our third on May 24th at Mt. Zion UMC in Greeneville. For those who may not know about this event, let me explain. Mujeres en Accion is an event that was started to help the Hispanic women in our conference to become more united and to learn more about United Methodist Women.

Our theme is "Our Body is God's Temple: How Can We Care For It?"  We will be focusing on domestic violence and physical health. We plan to have speakers explaining about domestic abuse and suggestions on getting out of that situation and a speaker who will share constructive ways to take better care of ourselves to be healthier.

At this event, all the speakers will be speaking in Spanish and it will be translated. If you feel led to take part in this event, your presence will be warmly welcomed. We hope to be able to buy books for the women at this event about the topics our speakers will be sharing. This will take the place of the hygiene products that we gave to women in 2013.

We are so thankful for this opportunity to help minister to these women. We are also grateful to be supported by women in our conference. We are excited to be chosen this year as the hands-on mission project for the conference. We would love to come and talk to your group about the Hispanic ministry in our conference. Thanks again for your prayers and support.

John 10:28-30 - “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.””
