We consider ourselves a LITTLE COUNTRY CHURCH WITH A GREAT BIG GOD SIZE HEART.
Mt. Zion UMC will have its annual DRIVE THRU LIVE NATIVITY “How Far To Bethlehem” on December 12 and 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. each night at Jeffers Funeral Chapel, in Afton. Luminaries light the way as visitors travel from scene to scene. The trip features Caesar on his throne, Mary and Joseph traveling to Bethlehem, Angels from on high, shepherds watching their sheep, Roman soldiers, peasants roaming the country side, the three wise men, and the manger scene with Mary, Joseph, and the Baby Jesus. Live animals are used in appropriate places. The church offers this as a gift to the community as a reminder of the journey to the birth of Christ. Admission is free. Canned items will be accepted for the local Food Bank. The nativity will be located just off Andrew Johnson Highway, between Afton Rd. and Chuckey Pike.
Mt. Zion UMC Children's Ministries will be hosting a craft fair December the 6th from 8am to 5pm. If you would like to be a vendor please contact either Paige Peters @ 620-7398 or Vicki Brown @ 741-3338 or firstname.lastname@example.org. You must pre-register due to spacing. The vendor cost is only $10.00 to sell your merchandise. Thank you.
The Connected Disciples will be selling Mt. Zion magnets for $10 to help raise money for their mission trip to Eleuthera in the Spring. Hope you will purchase one (or two) and show your pride in the church and help support our mission.
The Greene County Thanksgiving Outreach began as a ministry that served and delivered Thanksgiving meals to around 300 people twenty years ago. It has grown over the years to include a variety of churches of different denominations and is now serving over 2500 meals. Mt. Zion is joining forces with other churches in this effort. You will be given an opportunity to help. Please say yes!
