We consider ourselves a LITTLE COUNTRY CHURCH WITH A GREAT BIG GOD SIZE HEART.
Mt. Zion UMC will have its annual DRIVE THRU LIVE NATIVITY “How Far To Bethlehem” on December 11 and 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. each night at Jeffers Funeral Chapel, in Afton. Luminaries light the way as visitors travel from scene to scene. The trip features Caesar on his throne, Mary and Joseph traveling to Bethlehem, Angels from on high, shepherds watching their sheep, Roman soldiers, peasants roaming the country side, the three wise men, and the manger scene with Mary, Joseph, and the Baby Jesus. Live animals are used in appropriate places. The church offers this as a gift to the community as a reminder of the journey to the birth of Christ. Admission is free. Canned items will be accepted for the local Food Bank. The nativity will be located just off Andrew Johnson Highway, between Afton Rd. and Chuckey Pike.
The Connected Disciples will be selling Mt. Zion magnets for $10 to help raise money for their missions. Hope you will purchase one (or two) and show your pride in the church and help support our missions.
